Responsibilities and duties for this job are working long hours, studying the current and future fashion trends, work with various colors and fabrics, create sketches of future designs and manage the final sample productions of their designs. Fashion designers may choose to concentrate in a particular area of the industry such as children clothing, shoes, and/or jewelry. The educational and/or training requirements for a fashion designer are four years of school either at a trade school, college, or art school. The salary ranges are people at the low end of the salary get $27,970 and the people who are amazing at fashion designing get far more and it even can go into the millions! The degree you need is a fashion designing degree. Math and language arts help with this career because math for measuring and estimating how much fabric. You need language arts because a designer must demonstrate effective communication skills when working with buyers, advertising and public relations specialists and other players in the market. Also the ability to persuade others in order to secure support for his/her artistic vision is particularly important. I choose this career because I love clothes, shoes, and accessories. Also I like to keep up with the latest fashion and I just got a sewing machine for my birthday. I am well suited because I have a good artistic eye, I’m a good writer, and I am on high honor roll. Also because I know how to work sewing machines and hand sew. It is a competitive field, but hopefully I will get the right schooling and training to become a fashion designer.
